Tour of Korea

Korea is ALL of New York. It is 12 million people in downtown Seoul with another 12 million people in the greater city limits. 50% of the entire Korean population lives with in the greater Seoul area. The traffic is crazy, the drivers are worse and the scooters are relentless. We met our tour guide, Youngshin Lee, at our hotel 9:30am to go on a tour of Gyeongbokgung Palace. The Palace was established in 1395 during the Joseson Dynasty. The mountain in the background is Mount Bugaskan.  And we walked from our hotel to the Palace, a total of about 5 blocks. This Palace is in the center of Seoul. It was really cool, a thriving modern city, with this 700 year old Palace and Mountains all intertwined.

We were on the tour with Youngshin and a couple from Kansas, Kelly and Nate who also pick up their baby from Holt tomorrow.
Youngshin was really nice. It was only her third tour, she new nothing about the Palace but she did help us as a translator. After the Palace it was onto their museum.  Korea is amazing because it is 5000 years old and has amazing history and pride.
As we left the tour, we got a really cool look at some Korean tradition with a guard parade as we left the Palace. It was a fantastic morning. Moving on this afternoon to Shopping. After a lunch a Quizzno's
